We are recruiting for a permanent Mechanical Test Engineer for a company based in Bournemouth, Dorset.
The role takes place in a Testing Laboratory that would involve the physical testing of Respiratory Protective Equipment. The work is both interesting and varied with tests covering different technical areas including: flammability, pressure and flow, wearer trials and breathing simulation.
Previous industry-specific experience is not required as training will be given, but some knowledge of engineering or testing would be beneficial.
Salary: £25k per annum
Hours: Day Shift; Monday to Thursday: 7am to 4.30pm, Friday: 6.30am to 1pm
The ideal candidate will:
- Have some form of previous engineering and/or mechanical testing experience.
- Be able to setup and run tests using specialised equipment and following international standards.
- Have the perseverance and ability to see projects through to completion.
- Have a high level of attention to detail with the able to accurately report data and keep records of testing.
- Work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Commission and lean to use new lab equipment.
- Have basic computer skills.
